Listed below is a selection of events, many within about 30 minutes drive from Louth. Most of the events in Lincoln city would be better visited by bus; there is a regular service from Louth bus station, 10 minutes walk from the house. This list will be added to from time to time, but it is worth contacting Louth Tourist Information Centre (01507-609829) for forthcoming events.

Plants for sale as well as a host of stall holders selling everything from garden equipment to furniture and fruit trees. 18-19 August The Lincolnshire Steam and Vintage Rally, Lincolnshire Showground 25-27 August British Superbike Championship, Cadwell Park, Louth 2 September Antiques Fair, Lincolnshire Show Ground 4 September Auction of antiques, collectables and household items at the Old Wool Mart, Kidgate, Louth 14-16 September Bathing Beauties Beach Hut Festival, Mablethorpe & Sutton on Sea. The Bathing Beauties Festival is the only one in the UK. With a 5 mile stretch from Mablethorpe to Sutton on Sea it has become the largest and longest linear coastal art festival in England. October-December Breeding seals at Donna Nook Donna Nook is one of the most accessible sites for seeing seals at a time of breeding in the UK. Elsewhere they either gather on beaches but in far away places like the Scottish islands, or they are out to sea in rocky outcrops. In Lincolnshire it is a short drive from Louth to the beach and there they are, from the end of October to end of December. In 2010, there were over 1400 pups born. Click here to see them. 1 October Lincolnshire Day A range of events planned around the County for this day 1-3 October Lincolnshire Antiques and Home Show, Lincolnshire Show Ground 7 October Apple Day at Gunby Hall Something of a classic, the Gunby Hall Apple Day is a great chance to come back to the garden to see it in all its Autumnal glory and admire the varied harvest from the 49 varieties of apple. Apple displays in the Orchard Gallery as well as many apple baked goods in the tea room.
