About us
We purchased the house early in 2004 while living and working in Bristol, with the intention of having somewhere to stay when visiting family and friends. It was in poor condition, but during frequent visits through the year, walls were re-plastered, new sash windows were made and fitted, and along with external and internal decorating, the house became a home where we were happy to spend time.
Now, with early retirement, we are living in Louth, just a few minutes walk from the holiday home. This means that we are on hand to keep an eye on the property, make sure that it is spotlessly clean, that everything works, and that it is warm and welcoming when guests arrive, especially in winter!
When you arrive in Louth
Arriving by public transport? Let us know in advance and we will meet you at the bus station and drive you to your holiday home.
Arriving by car? You will have received directions to your holiday home and a diagram showing where your reserved parking space is located. Keys to the property are in a 'keysafe' by the front door – you will have been given the combination along with the directions.
Bringing bicycles? We offer secure, covered storage for your bicycles, just 5 minutes walk from your holiday home. (Please confirm when booking.) Just phone us when you arrive and we will pop round and take you to the cycle storage.
Inside the property you will find tea, coffee and sugar in the kitchen cupboard and milk in the fridge, so you can relax with a drink after your journey.
A tasty welcome pack will be waiting for you If you have booked accommodation for 7 nights or longer. We are passionate about Louth and its shops, so as well as the usual home-baked bread, milk, butter, eggs and sausages or bacon (all locally sourced), we will provide a selection taken from the mouthwatering array of Lincolnshire-produced delicacies, such as plum bread, preserves, cheeses, chocolates, beers and cordials (subject to availability). There will also be a leaflet detailing where locally, the produce can be purchased.
Vegetarian or vegan? let us know and we will provide meat/dairy-free alternatives (we are both vegetarians).
An information folder is in the bookcase, containing details of local pubs, restaurants and shops, as well as walk leaflets and brochures on places to visit. The Tourist Information Centre is just a few minutes walk away.
In winter we will endeavour to have the heating on so that you arrive to a warm house (it warms up very quickly anyway), and there will be winter-weight duvets both beds (lightweight ones are supplied in summer).
Our welcome pack is sourced from amongst the following:
From time to time, there will also be:
In every corner of Lincolnshire you’ll find local fresh produce – so, look out for the Tastes of Lincolnshire logo at places to stay, shops, producers, cafes, pubs, restaurants and farm shops.
