Louth is ideally situated to explore the surrounding countryside - to the west the rolling Wolds, to the east, arable farmland ending at the coast with its nature reserves, sand dunes, saltmarshes and golden beaches. There are pretty villages, and ancient churches, all interlaced with footpaths.
